Square Mile Broking are pleased to announce that we have successfully renewed our status as ‘Chartered Insurance Broker’ which is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
This status is only awarded to companies committed to developing and maintaining the knowledge and capability of their teams so they can deliver the highest quality advice.
Rather than a simple tick box exercise a Chartered Insurance Broker must provide detailed evidence of not only professional qualifications held but also continuous development in the form of Personal Development Plans and Training records. The Training record must show the individuals development need, learning outcomes and also a reflective statement to evidence that the training has met the development need. At Square Mile Broking all staff from owners of the business to new recruits are set a minimum target of structured training of 35 hours per annum.
Chartered companies must also follow a demanding code of ethical practice. This means they must work in an ethical manner that places client’s interests at the heart of the advice they give.
Chartered status – granted by the Privy Council – is the industry’s gold standard for Insurance brokers and is currently met by fewer than 5% of companies across the country
Sandy Scott, Chief Executive Officer of the CII comments :
“Square Mile Broking Ltd has demonstrated that it upholds the highest professional standards in our industry, not just by ensuring that your staff are appropriately qualified, and they maintain their expertise via continuous professional development, but your brand values match those enshrined in the CII’s Code of Ethics.”
