As you might be aware, the team at Square Mile Broking decided to take on the challenge of ‘Tough Mudder’ in September, in order to continue to support the amazing Emily Ash Trust.
December 16, 2015
Just a final thank you to all of you who kindly sponsored us on our Tough Mudder challenge on behalf of the Emily Ash Trust.
The Emily Ash Trust are a small charity with a big heart and have the primary aim to improve the lives of children and young people suffering with cancer. Unlike some charities all staff work on a voluntary basis so all money raised goes to support the families.
The origins of this charity go back to 1999 where 5 year old Emily Ash was diagnosed with Leukaemia, her close family and friends were desperate to help but as they couldn’t do anything medically they decided to channel their energies into something else. Hence, the Emily Ash Trust was founded in 2002, aiming to raise awareness of the need for more bone marrow donors and funds to enable the lives of parents, carers and siblings of sick children to enjoy some sort of normality during such a difficult time. Emily is now a healthy 20 year old and is 12 years past her bone marrow transplant.
Tacking an 11.5 mile course with obstacles such as Artic Enema, Mud Mile, Kiss of Mud, Cry Baby and Electric Shock Therapy seemed a real challenge at the time. That is until we attended the Emily Ash Annual Ball where we heard about the real challenges facing the friends and families this marvellous charity help.
Thanks to your kind donations we raised over £9,000 against our original £5,000 target with every penny going to help those who need support.
Thanks again for your generous support
